When we are in Barcelona, one of the obligatory points to visit, is The Holy Family. It is a Catholic basilica, designed by architect Antoni Gaudí, started in 1882 and is still under construction.
It is the masterpiece of the architect, and the greatest exponent of Catalan modernist architecture. It is one of the most visited monuments in Spain, together with the Prado Museum and the Alhambra in Granada.
The Sagrada Familia has Latin cross plant, of five central naves and transept of three naves, and an apse with seven chapels.
It has three facades dedicated to the Birth, Passion and Glory of Jesus and, when it is finished, will have 18 towers: four in each portal making a total of twelve by the apostles, four on the cruiser invoking the evangelists, one on the apse dedicated to The Virgin and the central tower-dome in honor of Jesus, which will reach 172.5 meters in height.
There is much more information about La Sagrada Familia. But my idea is to teach a little of what I have already seen and lived and to transmit my emotions through the images we have made.
As I said, it is a must see when in Barcelona and the excitement will be very strong. So enjoy the ride !!
