Today I will talk about something very beautiful that is very close to the Príncipe Pio Station in Madrid and was created in 1956, inspired by other European rose gardens of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. I’m talking about the Rosaleda of ‘Parque del Oeste’ in Madrid
This rose garden is the second built in Madrid, after the one in the ‘Parque del Retiro’ in 1915
Taking advantage of the fact that May is the month of flowers, the Popular Rose Competition of Madrid has been organized for many years this month. Visitors can choose by ballot their favorite Rose. The winners participate in a raffle where they are presented with Plants of rose.
La Rosaleda has more than 500 types of rose bushes from all over the world and access is free every day of the year. A unique place, where you can stroll along accompanied by the trinar of the birds and relax walking among hundreds of rose bushes, each with its typology and history duly explained.
Of all the seasons of the year, Spring is without a doubt the best to visit, since the roses are in their maximum splendor, although at any time of the year it is a unique place to visit.
